At the end of 1997 the BMBF [Federal
Ministry for Education and Research] invited the submission of
Rough ideas on the subject of the interaction between humans and technology in
the knowledge society of the future. 89 Consortiums of
firms, institutes and universities took part.
The result of the competition was announced on
2.3.99. There were six winners and ARVIKA was among the first
of these. The choice of projects was supported by the DLR, the
German centre for air- and space-travel, as project sponsor of
the BMBF in the field of information technology.
ARVIKA is planned and supported by an impressive consortium of firms from large
industry, medium sized companies, the important institutes for
research and science, small and medium sized enterprises and servicing providers and by
Siemens AG, Automation & Drives Division which was chosen
by the consortium, to take responsibility for the management
of the consortium. |
