BMBF-program

At the end of 1997 the BMBF [Federal Ministry for Education and Research] invited the submission of Rough ideas on the subject of the interaction between humans and technology in the knowledge society of the future. 89 Consortiums of firms, institutes and universities took part.
The result of the competition was announced on 2.3.99. There were six winners and ARVIKA was among the first of these. The choice of projects was supported by the DLR, the German centre for air- and space-travel, as project sponsor of the BMBF in the field of information technology.

ARVIKA is planned and supported by an impressive consortium of firms from large industry, medium sized companies, the important institutes for research and science, small and medium sized enterprises and servicing providers and by Siemens AG, Automation & Drives Division which was chosen by the consortium, to take responsibility for the management of the consortium.
